Trains and Zeppelins – quite useless in the Minecraft world, you’d be tempted to say. But in fact, why keep Minecraft bare and simple, when you can enrich it with so many things? This mod brings a new train system that works better than the original minecarts, along with many other goodies. The main concept of this mod revolves around trains and movement. This means it’s full of trains and advocates perpetual movement. Trains are better, quicker and nicer than original minecarts. The mod also contains some new minecarts as well though, which can be used to carry wood along with other things. And what is really fantastic about this mod is that it contains a track builder, so that you can lay down your own routes for your fixed-track machinery. If you like speed on rails, this mod was made for you.

In short, this is a mod for MInecraft version 1.0.0 that adds new transport possibilities. Its offerings are a lot better than the original minecarts, and the new textures on each train are neat. We can only say well done to its developer, SPitFire4466, for a well thought-out mod.

Installation instructions for Trains and Zeppelin Mod

• Locate your minecraft.jar by going to Start menu, then run, and type “%appdata%>.minecraft>bins” (no quotes).
• Backup your minecraft.jar just in case something goes wrong.
• Now open the .jar with WinRar or equivalent program.
• Delete the Meta-inf folder in the archive.
• Download and install Modloader and run Minecraft to make sure you don’t get a black screen. Exit Minecraft and drag and drop everything inside Modloader into the open archive that you opened before.
• Download and install ModloaderMP using the same procedure (step 5).
• You can optionally download Audiomod.

• Extract TrainConfig.txt into the main .minecraft folder.

If you’re looking for a new way to explore the Minecraft world, this one is for you. The Hot Air Balloon mod gives you the ability to do this from up in the air. The mod is particularly suitable for those of you who prefer the vanilla (stock) Minecraft version, since it does not really change the game but only adds some extra functionality. With it, you are simply able to view the world from above. This in stark contrast to the “Fly” mod, which does not require you to craft things and can almost be considered cheating. With the Hot Air Balloon mod, you earn the right to fly, as you need to craft something in order to take to the air. This mod can also be used in multiplayer.

As its name implies, the Customizable inventory mod lets you customize your Minecraft inventory to suit your needs. It’s the single one of its kind, and well worth trying.

After installation, the next time you’ll open your inventory, you will notice a new button has become available. By clicking on it, you can alter the dimensions of your crafting table. For instance, you can change it from 2×2 to 3×3. This can come in handy as it means that you do not have to bring a crafting bench with you all the time.

This mod also lets you alter the total amount of items you are able to carry. You can increase or decrease it according to your preference, but we’d be hard pressed to think of a situation where a player would prefer to actually decrease the size. Enlarge it all the way!

1. Download the Customizable Inventory Mod

2. Find your .minecraft\bin folder (located in {System Drive}:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin) and open Minecraft.jar with a zip tool.

3. Drag and drop all of the mod’s files into .jar, except for the GUI folder

4. In your open Minecraft.jar, open the GUI folder.

5. Open the GUI folder in your mod archive and drag and drop its contents into the folder you opened in the previous step.

6. Installation is now complete. Have fun playing with your new inventory.

The Angry Bird mod is a fantastic one indeed. It is still a work in progress (WIP), as its developer is a student and is coding it in his free time, but it has already made quite an impression on the Minecraft community. The latest update brings the black bird species into the game.

We recommend keeping an eye on this mod so as to always have the latest version and take advantage of its enhanced content. Right now, it has already added all of the angry birds, but hopefully, by the time it is completed it will have also added some more Minecraft blocks, such as breakable ice and wood.

Installation is quick and can be completed in a few easy steps, which we shall list a below. Modloader is recommended for the installation, but not required.

Yogscast and SOI Characters Mod started out as a simple project for the improvement of its developer’s coding skills, but has turned out to be quite interesting. It enriches your Minecraft world with all the figures from the Shadow of Israphel (SOI) series by the Yogscast team, for a grand total of 33 new non-playable characters.

The characters spawn at random in the Minecraft environment. You can also utilize the single player commands to have them appear in the game when you like, for example in a custom map.

2. Download ModLoader.
3. Go to your Start menu and then select Run, enter “%appdata%” and hit OK.

In Minecraft, mob farms are a very useful thing since they can help you quickly gather items and experience points. The Craftable Mob Spawners mod enables to test out how well your spawner operates. It allows you to craft customized mob spawners that can spawn any kind of mob; hostile, friendly or even nether mobs.

The mod is updated to work with Minecraft v 1.0.0 and is good enough to be worth of your download time. The great part is that you can use it to put custom spawners into Minecraft, which will remain available and functional even after you remove the mod. It is an especially great addition for custom maps.

6. Drag and drop your mod archive into .minecraft\mods.

This mod makes killing mods a more spectacular experience. Without it, you kill a mob and it just drops dead on the floor. It might be a little difficult to master, but once you do, it’s just plain boring. This mod hopes to add a new dimension to a mob’s ugly death.

It only affects zombies for now and it would definitely be worth it if it was expanded to affect all other mobs as well, but this is good enough for a start. It’s a little tough to put into words what exactly happens upon a zombie’s death, but this little video should help you get the gist of it. In a nutshell, whenever you kill a mob, its parts (arms, legs etc) will fly off and lie on the ground for a few seconds.

7.Do the same for the Zombie dismemberment mod files.
8.Close any open windows, run Minecraft, and have fun putting mobs to their death.

The Spawner GUI mod enables you to spawn mobs in Minecraft. After installation, the user only needs to right click on the mod and a new GUI will show up, which allows the player to select a new mob to be spawned in Minecraft, whether it’s a mob of pigs, ghosts, cows, or anything else.

The concept is rather simple but extremely useful, as it lets you put custom mob content in your custom maps. The only real issue is that the mobs should be chosen when the player is standing on the correct blocks in order for them to spawn properly. This means that pigs, cows and similar friendly mobs need to be spawned while on grass. But apart from this detail, this mod is very easy to use and can help you customize your Minecraft experience.

 Dragons are quite amazing creatures, and it would be a shame if there wasn’t a way to bring them to Minecraft. Fortunately, this is now a reality thanks to the Mystic Dragons mod, the only one of its kind.

Designed by thehippomaster21, this is yet another great mod for Minecraft. Dragons are mythical creatures with wings and a usually oversized body. They are also able to fly and spit fire, but unfortunately the latter feature did not make it to the current version of the mod. It may be added in a newer version if possible.

True to its name then, this mod gives you the ability to fly over the Minecraft world. There are minor glitches, since Minecraft was only developed to accommodate the player’s character moving on the ground and not in the air, but flying is still feasible and quite enjoyable too. You can ride your dragon, but you can also target and kill a few in order to obtain swords, which can then be used in combat with mobs.

The mod has many different species of dragons. They are listed below along with their main characteristics.

Dragons

Blue dragon: Has 12 health points and will habitually assault players if attacked or ridden without being tamed.

Blue dragon E2: Wildlife evolution of the blue dragon and a truly rare creature.

Green dragon: Grassy and sandy landscapes make up its habitat. A little slower to attack compared to the blue dragon, but once it does, it mounts a fierce assault.

White mystic dragon: This one can be flown without being tamed.

Mod Features

Scale sword: Scales are dropped by dragons after their death. You can use them to create a sword.

Right click on your tamed dragon to set aggressive or peaceful behaviour towards other mobs.

The dragon can be fed with raw fish or meat.

To mount a dragon, right click on it with empty hands. Small dragons cannot be ridden.

This mod is suitable for Minecraft’s single player mode.

Installation instructions

1. Download and install ModLoader, AudioMod and TurboModel Thingy.

2. Make a control test by running the game before going to the next steps and ensuring it works. This way you’ll know that if something goes wrong, the mod is the actual culprit.

3. Download the Dragons mod and drop its zip file in the .minecraft\mods folder. To navigate to this folder, use the ‘run’ option in your start menu, type “\%appdata%\.minecraft\mods “ (without the quotation marks) and click OK. Do not decompress the zip yet.

4. Extract the ‘resources’ folder contained in the mod’s zip file into the .minecraft folder so that it merges with the already existing .minecraft\resources folder.

5. Go to your .minecraft\bin folder and open minecraft.jar with WinRar, 7zip or other similar utility.

6. Drag and drop all contents of your open zip file (except the resources directory) into the open minecraft.jar.

7. Run minecraft and enjoy flying.

 Grand Theft Auto has been one of the most popular series of computer and video console games ever released. The franchise has now entered its third decade and its longevity can only be attributed to its major success. It is no surprise then, that sooner than later, a GTA IV mod would also pop up for Minecraft. This mod introduces the GTA IV world into Minecraft; adventure, violence, even pornography becomes part of your Minecraft world, and so does GTA’s storyline, making you feel like Nico Bellic, the main character of GTA4 IV. Even though it is still a WIP and only 25%, complete, this mod has a lot of potential and will surely live up to its promises.
